Aight herez an update to anyone view'n this. Yellowing of the leaves is usually normal, unless the entire plant turns yellow & shrivels up and dies on ya. Clones do not require a tremendous amount of light, mist them a couple times a day. I'm no cloning expert & failed at it up until recently, this is what I've learned from several people: The medium should be moist not dripping with water/solution, you need a minimal amount of leaves(1 set of fan leaves trimmed) below your top set of leaves, cut your tip at a 45 deg angle, lightly scrap off the top layer of skin/bark by your cut, & dip it into rooting hormone and put it into your medium. And THIS IS MY FIRST TIME CLONING Any help is appreciated. Can anyone tell me wassup with dis? I havnt mist them yet and there inside under my 6500k light right now. The next morning they looked like the shrank and the leaves are drooping.
Then i left them outside all night under my corner light in there dome. I took cutting from the bottem of my plant thats already flowering at the top. I have a feeling my 2 day clones are overwatered. See the cloning article or aero-cloner instructions for photos of properly sized cuttings and a way to clone without wilt.Īlso monitor closely the ambient air temperature as anything above 80 is starting to get too hot and this will serve to accelerate both transpiration and the drying out of your medium. You can trim off the half of the fan leaves to reduce area or take smaller cuttings. The cuttings may be too large with too much leaf mass.
Next time, an anti-transpirant spray will greatly reduce wilting- they form a waxy barrier that keeps water inside the cutting. Make sure that the lights aren't too bright, fluoros are all that's needed. If they are 'too firmly' seated, you may have bent or broken the stem and stopped water uptake. Make sure they're firmly seated in the medium. Some grow roots easily and others sometimes need to be faced with death in order to get going. Drooping is natural, the clones need to pretty much die sometimes to force them to grow roots.
